Sharon is a Physician Assistant, Founder and Chair of APP2APP Virtual Lectures, Inc. She has a background in Cognitive Neurology, Obgyn, and Academia. She left her position at the Penn Memory Center, at he University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, in Sept of 2021 to focus on building up APP2APP to help other PAs and NPs.
Sharon also works PT delivering ObGyn Napro services in an office outside of Philadelphia
Queen of Hearts Fertility Care & NaPro Technology She is also seeing patients via TeleHealth through
MyCatholicDoctor where she specializes in NaPro ObGyn, Cognitive Impairment & Dementia.
Sharon has been a PA since 2003. She completed the NaProTECHNOLOGY Medical Consultant program in April of 2022 at the St. Paul VI Institute. From 2018-2021, she was sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials and she saw patients in the clinic at the Penn Memory Center. In 2017, she assisted in the development of a novel Inpatient Robotic-Tele- Neurology Program with faculty at Thomas Jefferson University, and in 2013, she developed an ObGyn clinic for underserved women in West Palm Beach, Fl.
Donna is a Neuro Oncology APRN, co-chairperson for the Hartford Hospital Nursing Research and Innovations Council and member of the Hartford Healthcare APP Council and Academics Committee. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at the College of Health Professions Pace University Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
Donna obtained a BS and MS degree in Nursing at the College of New Rochelle. She received a Post Graduate Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Pace University as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2017. Donna was awarded the Greatest Clinical Leadership Potential in Evidenced Based Practice from Pace University.
Donna has worked in the field of neurology since 1979. She began as a staff nurse in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to patient care through lectures, leadership, professional activities and publications. Donna was recently inducted as a Distinguished Fellow in the National Academies of Practice.
Alicia currently works for Genesis Health Group in Davenport, IA. She is a Neurology Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of Headache. She is developing Iowa's first multidisciplinary headache clinic through Genesis Health Group which is expected to open the summer of 2021.
In addition to valuing evidence-based medicine, Alicia is a strong believer in the benefits of multi-disciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes. She strives to provide interventions that will improve symptoms and quality of life, while maintaining respect for the patient's healthcare values and beliefs whenever possible.
Alicia received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Iowa University in 2014. She has been a certified Headache Specialist through the National Headache Foundation since 2018, and she is an active member of the American Headache Society. Alicia was recently invited to be a board member of the Quad Cities NP/AP Alliance.
Kara-Ann is a certified Physician Assistant that specializes in Nephrology. She earned her master’s in medical science at Nova Southeastern University in 2008.
Upon graduation, she has worked primarily in Nephrology but also worked for a short time in Pulmonology and Family Medicine. In 2013, she transitioned to Physician Assistant education, and has been in academia full time ever since. During this time, she continued practicing in Nephrology intermittently and is currently still doing so.
Kara-Ann is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Nephrology Physician Assistants, and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Her clinical interests include chronic kidney disease and medical outreach. Her passion is education and increasing diversity in medicine.
Dr. Best is an orthopedic surgeon with advanced specialty training in sports medicine and sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. He has served as assistant team physician for numerous professional and collegiate sports teams, including the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution and Harvard University Athletics.
Dr. Best completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was awarded the Frank L. Coulson Award for Clinical Excellence and the Paul S. Lietman Global Health
Scholarship for his outreach work in Ghana. He completed his fellowship at completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Matt has served on numerous medical mission trips to Trinidad, Africa, and Nicaragua. He has over 100 scientific publications, book chapters and professional presentations.
Dr. LaCour is a board-certified otolaryngologist. He currently works full time at North Oaks ENT & Allergy Clinic in Hammond, LA. Dr. LaCour graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, and then completed a five-year residency and one year fellowship in ENT
Dr. LaCour has always been passionate about education. He realized the techniques he gained from his education and over ten years of clinical practice could benefit nurse practitioners and physician assistants, so he launched Compassio Medical Education to share these skills and foster cooperation in the medical field.
Compassio provides online courses to allow APPs to develop their specialty knowledge and skills. The courses aim to teach APPs how to diagnose like a specialist, avoid unnecessary referrals, and perform more successful procedures.
Rick’s career in healthcare spans over 25 years. He has served in many operational and leadership roles including as a senior leader at hospitals in Maryland and Florida. More recently, he took time to pursue his clinical passion and returned to school to become a Physician Assistant.
After joining the Center for Vascular Medicine, he took the dual role of clinical provider and CEO. Rick leads the Greenbelt clinic location along with Dr. Sanjiv Lakhanpal. He believes that his clinical training and experience have been critical in allowing him to function effectively in his role, making decisions that benefit not only the practice but the patient as well.
Rick has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in business from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Keiser University.
